New Post!
- This is my latest project. I am making a bowl out of a record.
- The middle is a staff bar with treble clefs and bass clefs.
- The middle rim, are going to be piano keys.
- The outer rim I'm going to put eighth notes and quarter notes in a pattern.
- Once I am done with all of the designs and details I will put it over-top of a bowl and put it in the kiln. Once I take it out it will have melted around the shape of the bowl in a cool shape and will make all of the lines and patterns look twisted and it'll have a bit of texture.

- I chose this project because I love piano and music. I love to create my own songs on the piano and play different type of music.
- I am working on my project both at home and at school.
- A success I have had is spray painting the record, and making the lines of where certain things will be on the record.
- A difficulty is when I make the lines... I have to be very careful not to make the lines uneven or crooked!
Why I chose this project.
- I used the piano keyboard as a unique idea in this project because I love to play the piano.
- One new thing that I learned while making this art project, was how to make different patterns and design combine nicely and in organized way.
- One way that I communicated through my work, was that I showed that I like piano.
- One risk that I took was adding on the treble clef and the bass clef, because they were difficult to draw and it was a little hard not to mess them up.
- One thing that another student said about my art project, was that the treble clef and bass clef were really good.
- One thing that inspired me a bit, was Mrs. Prevot's record design. She had a cool wavy looking design around the edges, and I really liked that, so I decided to do something similar to that on mine as well.
- When I faced a challenge while making my record, I just made sure to slow down a bit and concentrate on what I was doing and not to rush myself to much.
- When I stepped back to analyze and look over my work, I never really thought that I had to change or redo anything, I just thought that I had to add a few more things.
- One technique that I used was adding many different patterns and designs to make this project, I also used some techniques that Mrs. Prevot taught me in class and over past years from before.
- Overall, I think that this project turned out very well, and I am happy with the ending results.
Investigation Task : Jean Dubuffet Website Post
- Jean Dubuffet was born on July 31st, 1901 & he died on May 12th, 1985. He is a French painter and sculptor. In his younger years he started in art, but he then moved into the wine industry as a merchant and did not fully get into his art career until his early forties. In the beginning of his art career he first started with drawings and paintings, and later moved into sculptural, environmental, and even monumental art that inspired many all around the word.
- There are many similarities between both the 2D and 3D because they have the same type of design, the only thing about the 3D art is it is practically the same design of the 2D art, but made or come to life with the 3D design added too it. Another thing is the way that he adds a 2D look to some of his 3D art works, I just think that it adds that extra detail that people enjoy because you don't normally see that in every day art from most artists.
- The first picture is the sculpture named : Group of Four Trees - 1969~72 : it is located at the One Chase Manhattan Plaza, New York, NY 10005 - A three dimensional quality I see in this art is the shape of the trees and the different surfaces that it has really makes it stand out.
- The second picture is the sculpture named : Monument with Standing Beast : it is located at 100 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60601 - A three dimensional quality that I see in this art how you can kind of interact with it by walking through it which I think is something that all tourists and even people who already live in the space enjoy because of how different it is.
- The third picture is the sculpture named : Closeria Fabala : it is located at Sentier des Vaux, 94520 Perigny, France. - A three dimensional quality that I see in this third sculpture is how big it is. You can walk inside of the sculpture, you can walk around it and to me that is something very different that all people like to see in an art because it is not something that you necessarily see in all other art.

- The picture on the right was made by Alexander Calder. He was an artist from 1923 - 1979. He was mainly known as, in most European countries, as "king of wire" for his unique way of creating mobile art with metal wires.
- The picture on the left was created by Jean Dubuffet. The two works of art look they could have been made by the same artist. They both have limited colors, but also a unique of design to really make the art work stand out to the eye.
- Four things that I would say are different about these art works would be the design of the lines in them, on the left they are more swirled or curved to add more texture to the art. And on the right it looks more organized and precise. A couple other things that are different are the way they they add color, on the right it more filled in the open spaces like the ears and nose, and on the right the color kind of fills or covers the whole artwork. The one on the right also shows more of a face in a way, it looks as if the person in the artwork is wearing a polo shirt, you can see the outline of the face, etc. But on the left it is more of just lines and it doesn't look as realistic.
- Four things that I would say are similar would be the colors, the lines, they creativity is similar, and they way that they "map out" their art is somewhat similar to the other.
